Luxury Hotel Review: InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of staying at one of San Francisco's landmark hotels right in the heart of the city! The husband and I were looking for a cozy place to staycation that was still in close proximity to some of San Francisco's many attractions, so the InterContinental Mark Hopkins was the perfect choice!

CHECKING IN

Upon entering the hotel, I immediately felt the historic charm that gives the Mark Hopkins its classic character. Stunning chandeliers and cute armchairs in the grand lobby make for a great place to lounge anytime of day. The hotel is located atop Nob Hill, boasting gorgeous views of the entire city and making it extremely convenient to explore nearby spots by foot or via the famous San Francisco Cable Car!

CLUB INTERCONTINENTAL LOUNGE

While waiting to check into our room for the weekend, we had the chance to enjoy some snacks and beverages at the Club Lounge. I highly recommend splurging to get lounge access during your stay, as it also includes late checkout! I loved the happy hour that takes place every evening, with an open bar and light bites. We also chose to dine here for the amazing breakfast buffet which includes coffee, a variety of fresh hot and cold foods and a delicious spread of pastries.

THE ROOMS

This 19-story property has 383 rooms and 33 suites. Our corner room was so charming and elegant, offering a great view of the city. I felt like I slept on a cloud and woke up feeling so refreshed! No matter where in the world I stay, details always stand out to me, so the fact that turndown service included mini Ghirardelli chocolates was a lovely touch! And the plush white bathrobes were perfect for lounging in all day long!

Whether you're staying the night at the Mark Hopkins or looking for an elegant rooftop lounge with spectacular city views, the Top of the Mark is a great place to get your evening started. Accepting parties on a first come-first serve basis, you'll want to get here early to score a spot for sunset. Sip swanky cocktails and enjoy a few appetizers while you soak in the panoramic views with the best seat in the house! From up here, you can spot the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin Headlands, as well as Alcatraz and Fisherman’s Wharf.
