DOORS-OFF HELICOPTER PHOTO EXPERIENCE IN RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL
Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful seaside city in Brazil, famous for its Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Christ the Redeemer statue on Mount Corcovado and the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain. What if I said you could experience it all in 30 minutes, with aerial views that will take your breath away? All you need is a little change in perspective. One of the best ways to see the city is from above, by taking flight in a doors-off helicopter!
Doors-Off Photo Experience
There are many helicopter tours that operate in Rio de Janeiro, but none compare to Vertical Rio. Vertical Rio takes the doors off, offering 360º views and an incredible experience that allows you to hang your feet out of the helicopter to capture the perfect #shoefie! This was definitely one of the most epic adventures I've ever been on.
Vertical Rio encourages you to bring along your camera and even provides attachments to secure all your gear! Whether you have a cell phone, a full frame DSLR or something in between, they've got you covered.
Safety
My entire experience with Vertical Rio was so impressive! The team was extremely professional, punctual and prioritized our safety. The feeling of being up in the air suspended above the city of Rio was truly indescribable, and having a company you can trust is of the utmost importance.
Flight Route
What is also extremely unique to Vertical Rio is the flight route. Because their flights are focused on photography, they don’t have a pre-set route. They will talk with you during the safety briefing and set the optimal flight plan for you. On our flight, we wanted to see all the quintessential Rio landmarks, so the pilot navigated to get us the best views possible! Though Christ the Redeemer was not visible due to fog, the rest of the flight was outstanding!
Tips to Know Before Your Flight
- Arrive early! Vertical Rio will provide you with a scheduled time for the safety briefing.
- Bring a valid photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport)
- Bring your camera to capture the action! Attachments to secure your phone and/or camera gear are provided by Vertical Rio.
- Skirts/dresses make it difficult to use safety equipment and are not allowed.
- Wear a jacket & bring a hair tie (if needed) - it can get pretty windy up in the air!
- Hats and flip flops must be left in the hangar during the flight.
- Wear cute shoes, but make sure they are tightly secured!
A very special thanks to the entire Vertical Rio team for taking me and my hubby on our first helicopter ride and for helping us check off a huge bucket list item! I cannot wait to return to Rio someday and experience the magic from above once again!
